Joshua Goss always wanted to own his own business. It didn’t have to be in the RTO industry, although it was all he had known since graduating from college 5 ½ years ago. He kept all doors open but found Premier to be the best franchise option. And it just happened to be in his industry.
“I have to tell you,” says Joshua, “I have looked at other franchises even those not in RTO. Premier has the best as far as getting hold of a real person. If you have questions, they are only a phone call away. They were a big help and were the deciding factor on whether or not I wanted to do this. They are there every step of the way – and still are.”
Joshua had worked for Rainbow Rentals and later Rent Way as a store manager. He watched as his former regional manager Perry Reese launched out on his dream and became a Premier dealer. “I was a little bit more scared to do it, but I said to myself, “I gotta do it. I gotta grab the ‘bull by the horns’ and do it.”
Fortunately Joshua ran into someone else who had similar plans.
Ruben Flores, a nine-year RTO veteran, was a RAC regional manager. He and Joshua met during Rentway days, and they both concluded that what they wanted in life was to start on their own and not work for a huge corporation.
“I wanted to start a business. I had run a multi-unit operation and had gotten a sense of running my own out there by myself. I knew others who were doing it. Josh and I started talking one day and we said. “Let’s do it!’ And here we are.”
“We looked at what others were doing,” said Joshua. “Perry had the best deal with Premier and was working with the best people and atmosphere. Premier has responded to every request I’ve made. Trooper has shot back examples and suggestions and been on top of every deadline. He’s helped me with the business package. I’ve also worked with the Premier advertising department. Also you can call other Premier dealers and they’ll help you.”
Ruben echoes the fact that they looked at many possibilities and concluded that Premier was the way to go. “Joshua knew all the people, and it sounded interesting. They help you all the way through the whole process. It’s way easier than I thought. Trooper is like a teacher, and Perry’s been great, too.”
Joshua and Ruben are slated to open by July. Their new store will be located at 3310 First Street W. in Bradenton Florida.
